PIMS

PIMS platform activity is focused on metabolomics, which is the analysis of small bioactive molecules (<1,000 Da), as lipids, sugars, amino acids, nucleic acids but also xenobiotics such as drugs, pesticides and other industrial pollutants. These analyses are made in biological samples (plants, animals, human, bacteria, water, soil) for IBMp teams, but also for other institutes, laboratories or collaborators in France, Europe and internationally. The platform performs the targeted analysis of molecules of interest, even in small quantities, and the non-targeted analysis for the exploration of metabolism. The platform masters imaging mass spectrometry (IMS), which allows the localisation of metabolites on intact tissues in a spatial and temporal way, using targeted or non-targeted approaches.
